FAQ
Q:
Can't I just connect the speakers in my home theater via Bluetooth or WiFi?
A:
No. In home cinema it is particularly important that the sound is reproduced synchronously from all channels and lip-synchronously with the picture. The delay time of Bluetooth and WLAN (200-300ms) is much too high and should be less than 20ms for home theater systems.
Q:
What is the range and how stable is the radio transmission?
A:
VOCOMO AirX radio systems transmit in the 2.4 GHz band with external antennas and thus penetrate walls and other obstacles better than systems in the 5 GHz band. The range is up to 100m outdoors and 20m indoors, with walls / ceilings in between. Thanks to a self-learning, adaptive frequency hopping process, the transmission automatically optimizes itself to the radio environment and transmits in the best available channels.
Q:
How does the calibration system of my AV receiver deal with surround speakers connected via AirX?
A:
If your AV receiver has an automatic calibration system, we recommend using this with a VOCOMO AirX radio system! For the calibration system, it does not matter whether the loudspeakers are connected by cable or AirX. However, if loudspeakers that have previously been connected to the AirX by cable are connected, the calibration must be carried out again.
If your AV receiver does not have a calibration system, add 6.5m to the physical distance of the AirX speakers and adjust the levels as described in the instructions for the AV receiver.
Q:
Can I really connect an AirX system to any AV receiver, even if it has no preamp outputs?
A:
Yes. In contrast to many other products, VOCOMO AirX transmitters have inputs for pre-amplifier signals as well as the option of receiving signals directly from the loudspeaker output of your AV receiver.
Q:
How do I switch the AirX transmitter and receiver on or off?
A:
VOCOMO AirX transmitters and receivers are optimized for minimal power consumption. If no signal is reproduced, the devices automatically switch to standby mode with a power consumption of <0.4W. All AirX devices can therefore remain switched on permanently. Transmitters can optionally be switched on / off automatically by the AV receiver, e.g. via a USB socket of the AV receiver or a trigger switch socket.
